(S1) Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China or person who needs to come to China for personal matters (more than 180 days)
(1) Passport
a) Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application,with 2 or more blank visa pages.
b) Photocopy of the information page and extension page(if applicable) of the passport.
(2) Visa Application Form and Photo
* One fully completed Visa Application Form with a recently-taken color passport photo(full face,front view,and bare head, against a light background, size 48X33mm) attached. Photo requirements
*You should complete an Online Application Form (where a Visa Centre provides such service).
Please remember to bring the completed form to the Visa Centre to submit your application.
(3) Proof of legal entry or residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of residence,work or study permit in Ghana with at least 6 months of validity.
(4) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and want to apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page. (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change.)
(5) For citizens of other countries, the following supplementary document are required:
The original and photocopy of residence, work or study permit in Ghana with a minimum validity of six months remaining.
2. Supporting Documents
1. An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen residing in China with permanent residence permit. The invitation letter shall contain:
a) information of the applicant(including full name, gender,date of birth, passport number,etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit(including purpose of visit,intended arrival date, intended places to stay,intended duration of stay,relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of financial support to stay in China).
c) Information of the inviting party(including name, contact telephone number,address,signature of individual).
The invitation letter may be in the form of fax,photocopy or computer printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original of the invitation letter.
2. A photocopy of the inviting party’s passport and residence permit.
3. Original and photocopy of the proof of relation between the applicant and the inviting party(proof of kinship, Marriage certificates, Birth certificats)
4. Photocopy of inviting party’s Chinese residence permit or valid Chinese visa.
*Dependents who intend to travel to China together with the main applicant(foreigner applying for a work visa (Z) or study visa (X))at the same time need to submit copies of the main documents needed for work and study visas.
5. Applicants applying for the short-term family visit visa(S2 visa) need to provide return flight ticket booking.
** For private affairs, documentation identifying their nature should be provided.
(1) Invitation letter may be in the form of fax, photocopy or computer printout, but consular officers may require submission of the original of the invitation
(2) If necessary, consular officers may require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, or require an interview with the applicant.
(3) Consular officers will decide on whether or not to issue the visa and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
