Common Technical Issues and Form-Filling Tips
I. Common Technical Issues and Solutions:
1. How to check a submitted application form on the visa center website:
A. Log in to the visa center website, go to "Personal Center," click "Details," then click "Completed" to view your application status.
B. If you cannot find the application, try adjusting the creation date and searching again.
C. If the issue persists, please send the applicant’s passport number, passport information, and email registered with the visa center account to: addisababacenter@visaforchina.org The visa center can help locate your application.
2. Unable to submit an application form after creating it:
A. The applicant may have submitted an application at another visa center. You must withdraw that application before submitting a new one to this center.
B. If the form was rejected and cannot be resubmitted, check for incomplete or unsaved sections, and ensure all required fields are correctly filled out.
C. Only one application form can be submitted per passport.
3. How to withdraw an application:
A. If the application status is“Under review”, you may withdraw it by clicking "View" under "Operation," then selecting "Cancel application." The center will determine whether to approve the cancellation based on your reason.
B. If two applications are withdrawn using the same passport, a new application can only be submitted after 30 days.
4. Did not receive update emails about application status:
A. Notifications regarding rejection or approval of the application form are sent via email to the address registered on the visa center website.
B. Please ensure that the email address you registered on the website is valid and in use.
C. Check your email settings beforehand to make sure that your emails are not being marked as spam or rejected by your inbox.
II. Important Reminders for Filling Out the Application Form
1. Applicants from third countries must submit their Ethiopian visa or residence ID.
2. When filling out the form, the sections on employment, education, and family background must be fully completed, and all information must be truthful, accurate, and complete.
3. For M, Z, F, X1, X2, S1, S2, Q1, Q2 visas, Section 6.2 of the form must include complete and accurate information about the inviting organization or individual.
4. For L and G visas, please allow sufficient time for the review process before booking travel tickets.
5. F visa applicants must provide an invitation letter, which must include the official seal of the inviting organization.
6. Applicants for M visa must submit an invitation letter with a legal seal; a copy of business license of the inviting organization; and a copy of ID of the inviting party.
For multiple-entry M visas valid for one year, applicants must have three previous M visas stamped with entry and exit stamps from the Chinese immigration authority.
7. For L, Q1, Q2, S1, and S2 family visit visas, if marriage or birth certificates are written in Amharic or Oromo, they must be translated into English or Chinese. ( If the document is prepared in English, it does not need to be translated .)
Documents (written in Oromo, Amharic, etc.) must be attested in two places (First by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ethiopia; Then by the China visa Center). Both the original document and translation must be uploaded during the online submission.
8. For L visas, bank statements from the past 6 months must be stamped on every page. Make sure name of the holder on the bank statement is the same as on the passport. If using a bank statement from a parent, spouse, or child, proof of relationship (marriage or birth certificate) must be attached along with a copy of the passport of the holder of the bank statement.
9. In Section 5.2 (landline number) and 5.4 (mobile number), ensure that you provide accurate contact information. The visa center may call the applicant if necessary..
