Notice for applicants submitting for visa
Dear Applicant
The center has observed that there are common mistakes made by applicants in the application process which leads to delays and inconvenience on the side of the applicants. To better assist you and enhance mutual efficiency, this center has compiled the most common mistakes and their corresponding solutions for your reference. We kindly suggest that you review this guidance before submitting your application so that you provide accurate information as required to avoid any unnecessary delay of your trip.
Key reminders
1. Ensure that you have selected Uganda and Kampala as the visa center in which you are applying from.
2. Read through the information filled in, that is name, gender, passport number, date of birth hereinafter referred to as DOB etc. Confirm that all supporting documents have been uploaded.
3. While uploading supporting documents, please upload each document separately for example invitation separately from the trading license. Avoid uploading a combined document including invitation, trading license, ID of legal representative etc. Each should be uploaded separately.
4. Ensure that the passport photo uploaded while filling in the application is a softcopy and not a scan or photo of the hardcopy. Please upload a recent photo (within 6 months).
5. If you have any old passport (s), confirm that the names, order of names and DOB in all passports is the same. If there is any change, it should be declared in a legal document.

Passport copy is blurred or cut |
Upload a clear, colored, and complete copy of your passport. All details must be visible. Be mindful of light reflection, from the passport, it can make some parts unclear. |

Incomplete or incorrect hotel / flight itinerary |
Ensure the hotel booking and itinerary are confirmed. Ensure that the applicant’s full name has been correctly clarified in the reservation. Hotel bookings for minors might not have their names but must have the name of an adult they are traveling with, it should specify that there is a minor (s) and their age(s). Dates in the hotel booking and itinerary must be almost the same and should match those in the application form. |

Passport number, name, DOB and passport expiry mismatch. |
Ensure that the details in the passport match with what is in the invitation, recommendation or any document where they are put. |

Missing bank statement |
Submit a bank statement if applying for M, L, X2 visas. |
|
No company recommendation when using company bank statement or no proof of relationship when using relative’s bank statement |
When using a company bank statement, the applicant should attach a recommendation from the company or form 20 if the applicant is a director in that company. When using a relative’s bank statement e.g father, spouse, brother etc, provide a proof of relation accordingly like a marriage certificate if it’s a spouse and birth certificate is it’s a parent or child. |

Mismatch in names on bank statement (passport vs bank statement) |
Confirm that the names of the applicant on the bank statement are exactly the same as those in the passport. If there is any difference, provide an affidavit or national ID to confirm this difference. |

Missing company documents (for business visa) |
Attach the invitation, trading license and ID of legal representative. Ensure the ID has both its sides. If the legal representative is a foreigner (not Chinese), upload their work permit. |

Incomplete invitation details |
Ensure the invitation has the host’s full name, address in China, contact, signature and a stamp for companies. It should also include the purpose of visit, date of first entry in China, date of departure, who will cater for costs, city of stay. Details of the applicant that is name, passport number, DOB etc should also be included. The invitation letter should be addressed to the Chinese Embassy in Uganda. |

Admissions without address and contact of the university |
Upload a screenshot of that information from the university’s website. |
|
Uploading previous visas without stamps |
While uploading previous Chinese visas, ensure to take a photo capturing both the visa and entry and exit stamps. If they cannot be on the same image, then upload them separately. |
|
Passport photo does not meet the requirements |
Upload a clear softcopy, white background, no earrings or jewelry, face and shoulders should be visible. Click here for more details. |

Applicants enter name (s) in this section like their last name for those with 3 names (1.1C) |
If you do not have a name that you no longer use, then leave it blank. |
|
Putting dates that are different from what is in the hotel booking, itinerary or invitation (6.1) |
Travel dates should match with the hotel booking and itinerary or invitation. |

Wrong name of inviter (6.2A) |
Enter the name of the correctly just it appears on the invitation. For L visa, put the name of the hotel as in the hotel booking. |

Wrong phone number (6.2C) |
Input the phone number accurately. Remember to start with +86 which is the country code for China. |

Wrong address of inviter (6.2E) |
Input the full address of the inviter in order of province, city and district. If the invitation does not have the complete address for example if it is missing the district, contact the inviter for the details or search the name of the company or hotel on the web to get its address. |

Ticking No for an applicant that has ever been to China (7.1A) |
If the applicant has ever been to China, then tick Yes |
|
Entering incorrect information of previous visa (7.2) |
Fill in accurate visa information just as it appears on the visa sticker |
