(S1) Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China or person who needs to come to China for personal matters (more than 180 days)
Common Documents
1.Passport valid for more than 6 months with at least one blank visa page.2. Copy of the passport personal information page.
3. Printout of Visa Application Form of P.R. China submitted online, including confirmation page and a digital ID photo.
4. Copy of the front and back of Pakistan National ID card for Pakistani citizens.
5. Copy of evidence of legal stay or residence in Pakistan for a third-country nationals, such as visa, Pakistan Origin Card, etc.
6. Original Chinese passport and a copy of the passport personal information page for the person who was previously a Chinese national and applies Chinese visa for the first time after naturalization of another country.
7. If the applicant’s name is changed and differs from that in a new passport, please provide an official certificate of the name change, which must be apostille by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
8. VALID Police Character Certificate (Updated): The applicant(s) aged 10 or above must submit the police character/clearance certificate covering the period from since birth to till date; the applicant(s) under the age of 10 are not required to submit. If there is no QR code on the PCC , the PCC must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
Characterized Documents
1. An invitation letter written by a foreigner as an inviterwho resides in China for the purpose of work and study, etc.
Please see Appendix 3 for the content requirements of an invitation letter.
2. Copy of the inviter’s passport personal information page and residence permit.
3. Original and photocopy of the relationship certificate between theinviter and the invitee, such as marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship notarial certificate.If the certificate is issued by the relevant Pakistani government office, it should be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
**If the foreigner as an inviter applies for work visa (Z visa) or students visa (X1 visa) for the purpose of work or study in China, the visa applicant as an invitee should apply for relative-visiting visa (S1 visa). The invitee should provide, not only the necessary documents for S1 visa application, but also a copy of the inviter’s Z or X1 visa application documents, original and photocopy of the kinship certificate, such as marriage certificate, birth certificate, kinship notarial certificate, etc.,between the inviter and the invitee, and a statement letter written by the inviter’s work or study organization/entity.
**Family members of foreign journalists residing in China should contact the Chinese Embassy’s Political and Press Office in advance and follow the instructionby the relevant authorities in China.
