Important!!! Chinese Visa Application Guide
Step 1: Create a personal account and log in.
1. This website is for applicants applying for a China visa in Mexico City or Tijuana. Please ensure you have selected the correct location before starting registration. (Important: Please check the top right corner of the page!)
2. New users, please click the 【Create Account】 button in the upper right corner to begin registration. Applicants who have already registered an account, please click the 【Sign In】 button to log in directly.
First-time registrants need to enter their personal e-mail address to complete the registration. As the verification code will be sent directly to the e-mail provided during registration, please ensure the e-mail account is active and can receive emails normally.
Applicants who have already registered can log in directly by entering their registered email address and password:
3.After logging in, you can select 【Visa Category】 under the 【Visa Info】section to view the required documents for each type of visa.
4. After preparing the required documents, you can proceed to click the 【Application Form】 button to begin completing the application.
Step 2: Submit the Application Online
**Please note:** All applicants (excluding those applying for visas to Hong Kong, China and Macau, China) must complete the application form online.
1. After carefully reading the "Instructions for Online Visa Application Form," click the 【Strat filling in the form】 button to begin filling out the form.
2. The form filling process supports 【save】 to store entered content.
Saved orders will trigger a pop-up notification during the next form-filling session, with the option to 【Continue to fill in the form】.
3. Online Form Filling
The online form requires a total of 9 sections to be completed, namely: Personal Information, Visa Type, Employment Status, Educational Background, Family Details, Travel Information, Previous Travel History, Other Matters, and Declaration. Please fill out the form sequentially in either Chinese or English. After completing all mandatory fields (marked with *) in a section, click 【Next】 to continue.
3.1 Personal Photo Upload
When uploading a personal photo, the system supports dragging to crop the image and will automatically determine if the uploaded photo meets the requirements. If the photo fails the automatic check after multiple attempts, you may proceed to fill out other sections and submit a standard passport photo when you visit the center in person.
3.2 Filling in Name, Nationality, and Passport Information
The system supports automatic recognition from the passport data page when filling in your name, nationality, and passport information. Please verify that the information is accurate before clicking Confirm. The system will then automatically populate the relevant fields.
3.3 If the system indicates that there is an application in progress, you can view and manage it by clicking on your logged-in account name in the upper-right corner of the page and selecting 【My Account】. Please note that only one active application order is permitted per passport number.
3.4 Please select your visa type based on the purpose of your visit to China. Choose “Standard” or “Expedited” processing (Extra charge is needed for expedited processing; processing time is calculated from the date of passport submission. Please confirm the service type with the staff at the visa center.), visa validity, and intended duration of stay as needed.
Please note that whether to issue a visa, the type of visa, number of entries, validity and duration of each stay will be determined by consular officials. It may differ from those you filled in on the application form.
3.5 Please fill in your work experience in the past 5 years truthfully, and provide the full name of your company/organization without abbreviations. If you have multiple work experiences within the past 5 years, please click【Add】 at the bottom right to add extra entries.
3.6 Please truthfully fill in your highest level of education. If you have multiple educational backgrounds, click 【Add】 in the bottom right to add extra entries.
3.7 Please provide relevant information truthfully. If you select 【Not Applicable】, a detailed explanation shall be added.
3.8 Please fill in your arrival and departure dates and cities according to your travel plan. Please note that the system only accepts visa applications for entry dates within the next 90 days. Applications submitted outside of this period will not be processed.
3.9 【 Person sharing the same passport with you】 applies only when someone traveling with you uses the same passport. If you are traveling with others who hold different passports, please select “No” for this entry.
3.10 Please truthfully fill in your travel history, mainly including whether you have been to China, obtained a Chinese visa, and your travel record within the past 12 months.
3.11 Please complete this section based on your personal experience and fact, a statement explaining circumstances may be asked to provide.
3.12 In the Declaration page, please select the filer’s identity (the applicant or the person who fills in the application on behalf the applicant; those filling on behalf of others shall provide their personal information and relationship to the applicant).
After reading and agreeing to the statement below, check the box【 I understand and agree with the above】.
4.Uploading materials
4.1 Please take photos and upload the required documents as per system instructions (only image files are supported; PDF and other formats are not accepted). To expedite processing, make sure that all uploaded materials are complete, clearly visible, and evenly lit. Documents marked with red dashed borders are mandatory and must be uploaded.
4.2 All types of declarations can be downloaded from the 【Visa Info】 → 【Downloads】 section on the center's website.
4.3 If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, and formerly was a Chinese citizen/either of parents is(was) a Chinese citizen, please upload materials based on your individual circumstances.
4.4 If you are a foreigner in the Mexico, please upload your visa, permanent residence permit or other materials to prove your legal residence.
5. Confirm the Information
After uploading materials, click 【Next】to proceed to confirm your information. Here, you may review the submitted information and the uploaded materials. To make changes, click the 【Modify】button at the upper-right corner of the page. Once confirmed, click 【Submit the application form】. Please carefully review all the information, as submitted form cannot be modified until consular officials’ review.
6. Once you have completed and submitted the form, click the 【Submit】 button on the payment confirmation page.
Please note: You must click the 【Submit】 button on the Payment Confirmation page; otherwise, the order status will be "Pending Payment" and cannot be processed for online checking.
After all the above steps are completed, your order will enter the online review process. Please monitor your email and application status closely for any updates.
Step 3: Await Online checking
1. After submission, your application will enter the initial review stage, where it will undergo an online review by staff at the Center and the Embassy. You can track the progress of your application in real time using the 【Track your Application】 function.
2. Online Checking Result
2.1 You may receive an email requesting revisions to your application form or supporting documents. At this point, the application status will be shown as "Rejected." Please make the necessary amendments to your application or materials as instructed in the email.
2.2 You may receive an email indicating that the online review of your application has been completed. The application status will then show as "Online Review Completed." Please print the attachment to the email—the “Visa Application certificate”—and bring it along with your other documents to the Visa Center.
Please note: Online Checking approval does not guarantee visa issuance. Consular officers may require an in-person interview with the applicant or request additional documentation. Besides, processing times may vary depending on individual circumstances, and some visa applications may require longer processing time.
Step 4: Submit your application and pay the fee at the visa application center (appointment is not required).
1. Please submit the following documents at the visa application centre. If the documents are incomplete, the centre will not accept the application.
(1) The "Visa Application Certificate";
(2) Original passport;
(3) One visa photograph. Click here for photo requirements;
(4) Documents requiring orginal submission to the embassy.
2. All applicants holding ordinary passports will be requested to have their fingerprints collected. The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:
(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;
(3) Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Mexico with the same passport;
(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;
(5) From September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, applicants for short term visas (staying for less than 180 days) for one or two entries will be exempted from fingerprints collection.
The Chinese Embassy kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred.
3. Payment
Fees are payable when submitting the application at the Visa Application Centre. The Mexico City centre accepts payment in cash or by debit card. The Tijuana centre accepts payment via bank transfer.
Step 5: Document Collection
Processing times are calculated from the date the application is submitted at the Visa Application Centre.
Mexico City Centre: Regular applications are available for collection on the 4th working day. Express applications are available for collection on the 3rd working day.
Tijuana Centre: All applications will be available for collection in 10 working days.
Applicants should collect their documents in person at the Visa Application Centre during its operating hours, presenting the “pickup form” issued upon application submission.
