Scope of Application

Persons transiting through China.

Documents to Upload for Online Review

• Passport: Information page and 2 blank pages;

• Photo: Recent, front-facing, color (white background), bareheaded, official ID photo. Click here to view photo requirements;

• Valid stay or residence certificate (for applicants not holding Mexican nationality). Mexican citizens may upload a scanned copy of their ID card or passport information page;

• Scanned copy of previous Chinese visa. Applicants with no prior visa records may upload their passport information page;

• Guarantee letter issued by a foreign shipping company (including foreign ship agency company) for seafarers boarding ships at China's open ports;

• Confirmed connecting air (train/ship) ticket with fixed date and seat to the destination country or region via China.

Documents to Bring When Submitting Passport After Review Approval

• Original passport;

• 1 Visa Photo;

• Visa Application Confirmation;

• Valid Chinese visa (if applicable);

• Original Chinese passport (for applicants who previously held Chinese nationality and later acquired foreign nationality, applying for a Chinese visa for the first time).

Notes

• Currently, China implements a 240-hour visa-free transit policy for citizens of 55 countries (including Mexico), including the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Eligible passengers holding valid international travel documents and confirmed connecting tickets with fixed dates and itineraries may enter China visa-free through any of the 65 open ports in 24 provinces and stay and engage in activities in the specified areas for no more than 10 days. Special Instructions

• Consular officers may, at their discretion, require applicants to provide additional supporting documents or supplementary materials, or conduct an interview with the applicant;

• Consular officers will decide whether to issue a visa, as well as the validity period, number of entries, and duration of stay based on the applicant's specific circumstances.
