To further enhance the efficiency of visa applications and optimize service processes, Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Osaka *(hereinafter referred to as "our center")* will implement an online processing system through our center’s website, in order to coordinate with the Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka to launch the China Online Visa Processing System. For details,please refer to the offical announcement on the websit of the Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka.  

Starting from June 30, 2025, all applicants (excluding those applying for visas to Hongkong, China and Macau, China) must first fill out the application form and submit the required materials online. Only after the online review is approved can proceed to our center to submit their documents (excepting for those who hold diplomatic or official passport still need to submit to the relevant embassy). 

To ensure a smooth system upgrade, our center plans to upgrade its system from 24:00 on June 29, 2025. During this upgrade period, it is recommended to pause online form filling to avoid data loss. 

For convenient, applicants who have already filled out forms on the existing website before 23:59 on June 29, 2025 can still submit their applications in person at our center before 15:00 on July 4, with the current application form and all needed documents. Late submissions will not be accepted due to the closure of the original system.

Visa Application Process After Upgrading to Visa Online Processing System: 

1. Prepare Visa Application Documents:

Basic materials and other supporting documents. 

2. Complete the Online Visa Application:

Visit the [Chinese Visa Application Service Center website] www.visaforchina.cn and find the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Osaka.

Register and log in, fill out the Visa Application Form online, upload the required materials, and submit for initial review. All applicants (excluding those applying for visas to Hongkong, China and Macau,China ) must complete this step online. 

 ※※Important Reminder:

After submitting your application online, Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka or our center may request further materials at any time. Please check the "Application Progress Inquiry" regularly to monitor your application status. 

3. Submit visa application documents and Payment at our center:

(1) When the status of the order changes to "online review completed" and you have received a confirmation email, bring the printed Visa Application Certificate to our center during business hours (9 AM to 3 PM on weekdays). If the applicant want to choose Extended Services, submit time could extended to 4 PM.

As visa data is kept for a limited period of time, once you receive the email confirming that you have passed the online review, it is recommended come to our center to submit your application as soon as possible.

(2) Required materials include:

     - Original passport.

     - One photo if the uploaded one is indicated as unqualified (within 6 months, bareheaded wear, colored, white background, size: 48mm × 33mm).

     - Original residence card (for those applicants from the third country and living in Japan for long term).

     - Original Previous Chinese passport or travel documents and original naturalization certificate (for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign       

       citizenship but apply for a Chinese visa for the first time).

     - The original documents should be provided mentioned on visa application notice or required in particular.

     - If the required documents including previous passport, other nationality passport, real estate certificate, please take the original document to our center. 

     - Other supporting documents required by the Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka and our center.

(3) Applicants must provide ten fingerprints at our center. The following applicants are exempt from fingerprinting:

     - Individuals under 14 or over 70 years old.

     - Diplomatic passport holders or applicants eligible for diplomatic, service or courtesy visas;

     - Applicants who have applied for a visa and had their fingerprints collected with the past five years at the Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka with the same passport.

     - Missing all ten fingers or unable to provide any of the ten fingerprints.

     - Applicants for short term visas (staying for less than 180 days) for one or two entries before December 31, 2025.

※※Important Note:

The Consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those that forge fingerprints or use other people’s fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred. 

(4) Please kindly note online payment is not yet available. All fees must be paid when submitting application materials, including visa fees and visa service fees.

4. Collection:

(1) Please make collection during the opening hours at our center with the original pick-up form issued at the time of application submission.

(2) From the day you submit the application at our center:

     Collection is on the 4^th working day for regular service.
     Collection is on the 3^rd working day for express service.
(3) Collection time

     Regular service: 9:00-15:00 on working days (extended service to 16:00)

     Express service: 9:00-15:00 on working days (extended service to 16:00)
