1.    Basic Documents

(1)Passport
 a). Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and with at least 4 pieces of blank visa page.   
If you are a dual national or multi-national, you are requested to provide all current valid passports in your possession. Additionally, you may be also required to provide your previous passport(s) in support of your application.
b). A photocopy of the passport (the data page that includes the photo, personal information and signature page)
(2)Visa Application Form and Photo
One completed Visa Application Form and 2 recently-taken colour passport photos. The requirements of the photo will be a recent 6 month coloured passport photo (full face, bare head, clear and white background) and the measurement of photo should be (48mm X 33mm). In addition, the colour of attire of the applicant in the photo should be distinct contrast with the colour of the photo background. Please click the following large photo for details.Every applicant is required to submit two pieces of identical photo upon submission of visa application,One of the photos will be affixed on the application form while the other will be attached on the 3rd page of the respective applicant’s passport.
Please be noticed that, your visa application may be declined if your photo does not satisfy the requirements, and all the responsibilities should be taken by yourself.

you can download the application form from our website and fill it out manually or by your computer and sign it. Please remember to bring the completed form to the Visa Centre to submit your application.

(3)Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.
(4)Photocopy of previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who have obtained Chinese visas before)
If you have obtained Chinese visas before, you should provide the photocopy of the latest identical Chinese visa. It might facilitate the Embassy  to issue the most appropriate visa to you .

(5) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas(applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the last Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page.
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should provide original previous passport(s)and present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).

(6) Applicants under 18 years old:
a). Application form for those who are under 18 years old should be signed by parent(s) or their guardian(s) on the form Section 5.  The passports of parent(s) and/or relevant legal documents for the guardians plus passport of the guardians will be needed. Both original and copy of passport information page and signature page.
b). Applicants under 18 should also provide the Birth Certificate with parents' names (original and copy). The Birth Certificate should be in Russian,English or Chinese. If any personal information does not match with the documents provided (such as a name change), an official changing proof documents will be needed.
c). If parent(s) is holding non Kazakh passport, please also provide the original and photocopy of your Kazakh legal status (work visa, study visa or residence permit).
d). Overseas Chinese origin who are under 18 applying Chinese visa for the first time also need to provide both the original and copy of the Birth Certificate with parents information, previous Chinese passport or travel documents (if having), visa, Naturalization paper, plus the parents’ passport, visa, or naturalization paper when the applicant was born. All documents need both original and copy. If any personal information does not match with the documents provided(such as a name change), an official changing proof documents will be needed for the first time applying Chinese visa.
e)If both parents will not accompany the applicant to the CVASC to apply for the visa, letter of authorization is required.

2. Supporting Documents

visa F
(1)    An official invitation letter(TE) issued by inviting party;
(2)    Or an invitation letter issued by a relevant unit or individual in China, certificate of industrial and commercial registration of enterprises in China. This letter applies to the following situations:
Work certificate, business registration certificate, taxpayer identification certificate issued by relevant unit, national bank deposit certificate of not less than 5,000 US dollars, air ticket, hotel order 
(3)    The invitation  letter should contain:
a)Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the planned visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c)Information of the inviting party (incl.name, contact telephone number, address, stamp, signature of the legal representative or individual). 

visa M
(1)An official invitation letter(TE) issued by inviting party;
(2)Or an invitation letter issued by a relevant unit or individual in China, certificate of industrial and commercial registration of enterprises in China. This letter applies to the following situations:

visa Q1
For family reunion, the following documents are required:
A. An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit to live in China. The invitation letter should contain:
(a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
(b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay,intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
(c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual).
B. Photocopy of Chinese ID (both front and back sides) or foreign passports and permanent residence permits provided by the inviting party.
C. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate ,Hukou certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicants and inviting parties.
 "Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.
 For foster care, the following documents are required:
A. Original and photocopy of the natural parents’ or guardians’ passports, as well as the notarized and authenticated certification showing the relationship between parents or guardians and children.
B. Foster entrusted notarization issued by Chinese Embassies/Consulates General in foreign countries or Foster Care Power of Attorney notarized and authenticated in the country of residence or in China;
C. A letter agreeing to foster care issued by the trustee living in China who has agreed to provide foster care services and photocopy of the ID of the trustee.
D. A photocopy of the certificate indicating the parent(s) resided abroad when the child was born, providing that either or both parents of the child are Chinese citizens.

Holders of a Q1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

visa Q2
(1) An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit. The invitation letter should contain: 
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c) Information of the inviting party (incl.name, contact number, address, signature of individual, etc.);
(2)  Photocopy of Chinese ID(both front and back sides) or foreign passport and permanent residence permit provided by the  inviting parties.
(3) Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate ,Hukou certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicants and inviting parties. Multiple entries Q2 visa for one year may be applied.
(4) Round trip air ticket order or land transport evidence.

visa S1
(1) Applicants who are going to visit their relatives residing in China and intend to stay for more than 180 days need to provide: 
A.  A photocopy of the inviting party’s passport and residence permit.
B.  An invitation letter that contains:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay, intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual, etc).
C.Original and photocopy of certification  (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicants and the inviting parties.

D. A letter of guarantee issued by the inviter's company or school in China for the applicant.

Holders of S1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

visa S2
(1)    For visiting family members for up to 180 days, the following documents are required: 
A. A photocopy of the inviting party’s passport and residence permit.
B. An invitation letter. It should contain:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China); 
c) Information of the inviting parties (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual, etc.).
C. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between applicants and inviting parties.
"Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.

D. A letter of guarantee issued by the inviter's company or school in China for the applicant.


(2)    For medical treatment in China, please provide:
fax or photocopy of Invitation letter,hospitalization certificate,or certificate of intended admission to hospital issued by Chinese hospital, It should contain:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s), Means of financial supports;
c) Inviter information: name of hospital, contact number,address, signature of hospital official, etc.
B. Original certificate of deposit issued by the bank for no less than $10000.
C. Fax or photocopy of chaperonage certificate issued by Chinese hospital for escort staff.They should only be "Family members"( refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law), and no more than 2 people in principle,

(2)For private affairs, the following documents are required:
 Documentation identifying the nature of the private affairs should be provided as required by the consular officer.

visa Z
One of the following approval documents:
 (1) 《Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in the People’s Republic of China》 ; 
 (2) Registration certificate of the resident representative office of foreign (original) enterprises issued by related administrative department of industry and commerce;
 (3) Commercial performance
a)    Over than 90 days: Both original and copy of An approval document for commercial performance issued by Chinese government authority for Cultural Affairs .
 b) Commercial performance less than 90 days:  Both original and copy of An approval document for commercial performance issued by Chinese government authority for Cultural Affairs and  the short term working permit is necessary;
(4) Both original and Copy of Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation;

Holders of Z-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

visa C
A letter of guarantee issued by a foreign transport company or an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity in China;
Visa application Note, driver license and photocopy of ID for drivers of international road transport,

You are kindly reminded that:
Non-regular scheduled flights, chartered flights or private planes must get the Aviation Permit before departure.

visa X1
(1) Original and photocopy of the Admission Notice issued by a school or other entities in China;
(2) Original and photocopy of "Visa Application for Study in China" (Form JW201 or Form JW202) issued by Chinese relevant authorities.
(3) Certificate of equivalent deposit or scholarship issued by the bank for more than $2500.
We kindly remind you that:
Holders of X1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

(4) Provide screenshots of emails sent by schools in China to the embassy.

visa X2
(1)    Original and photocopy of the Admission notice issued by a school or other entities in China; 
(2)    Original and photocopy of Visa Application Form for Study in China(JW201/JW202);
(3)    Certificate of equivalent deposit or scholarship issued by the bank for more than $1500.

(4) Provide screenshots of emails sent by schools in China to the embassy.

visa R
 Relevant certificate documents provided by high-level qualified personnel with special skills meeting the requirements of China's relevant departments and urgently needed by China. 

visa J1
 Visa Notification Letter issued by the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and an official letter issued by the media organization for which the journalist works;
Applicants should contact the press section of the Chinese Embassy/Consulate General in advance or and complete relevant formalities.
We kindly remind you that:
Holders of J1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

visa J2
Visa Notification Letter issued by the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and an official letter issued by the media organization for which the journalist works;
Applicants should contact the press section of the Chinese Embassy/Consulate General in advance or and complete relevant formalities.

The original and photocopy of the Confirmation Form for Alien Permanent Residence Status issued by the Ministry of Public Security of China;

visa D
We kindly remind you that:
Holders of D-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.

visa L

(1)An official invitation letter(TE) issued by inviting party;
(2)Or an invitation letter issued by a relevant unit or individual in China. This letter applies to the following situations:
Work certificate, business registration certificate, taxpayer identification certificate issued by relevant unit, national bank deposit certificate of not less than 5,000 US dollars, air ticket, hotel order

Only for Group visa(more than 5 people).


 
3. Special Reminder

(1)Each applicant must provide all the documents mentioned above. Applicants may not share the supporting documents for their applications.
(2) All the Documents except required original, may be in the form of fax, photocopy or scanned copy, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original documents. All non-original documents must be clear and neat. An issuer of invitation letter who is an individual in China should also provide a photocopy of his/her Chinese ID.
(3) If the applicant is a dual national or multi-national, please provide all current valid passports in his/her possession. Additionally, the previous passport(s) may also be required in support of the application.
(4) If necessary, the consular officer will require an interview with the applicant or require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, i.e. naturalization paper, bank statement, tax report, proof of relation etc., which may not be listed in the website, in accordance with individual cases or different circumstances.
(5)The consular officer will decide on whether issue the visa or not  and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
(6) All application documents will be kept by the Chinese Embassy. The Visa Centre will only return your passport back when you come for collection.
