Provide two-way mailing service to applicants who meet the requirements of fingerprint collection exemption
From September 15, 2025, the Seoul Visa Application Center will provide a two-way mailing service ("mail-in application + passport return mail") to applicants who are exempt from fingerprint collection. The details of this service are outlined below:
I、Applying for Mailing Service
Scope of Application: The two-way mailing service is only available to applicants exempt from fingerprint collection. Specifically:
1) Applicants under 14 years of age; or
2) Applicants over 70 years of age; or
3) Applicants who had their fingerprints collected at the Seoul Visa Application Center within the past 5 years and obtained a visa, and are reapplying for a visa with the same passport. (Fingerprint exemption applies only to those who had fingerprints collected at the same center within the past 5 years. Applicants who had fingerprints collected at the Gwangju, Jeju, or other centers must still visit the Seoul Center for fingerprint collection.)
4) Applicants meeting other partial exemption conditions; please refer to the relevant notice on the Center's website for details.
It is recommended that applicants confirm their eligibility for fingerprint exemption with the Center in advance.

II.Service Fees: The two-way mailing service includes additional service fees and postage costs. This service is optional, the Center encourages applicants to apply in person at the Center.
Two-way mailing applications require payment of the Mailing Service Fee (charged by the Visa Application Center) and Postage Fee (charged by the post office), in addition to the standard Visa Fee and Service Fee. For specific fee standards, please refer to the Center's website (Fee Schedule).
III.Service Method: Eligible applicants who choose the two-way mailing service must:
1) Visit our Center's website, complete the online application form (application procedure: please click Step 1, Step 2, Step 3), and confirm receipt of the "Visa Application Confirmation Email" and "Visa Application Confirmation Certificate."
2) Click the "Download" section on the Center's homepage, download and fully complete the Mailing Disclaimer. The applicant must send this completed disclaimer along with the passport and application materials to the Center. Applications received without the Mailing Disclaimer, passport, or required materials will not be processed.
3) the Center will contact the applicant to inform them of the required payment amount after receiving the application materials. Applicants must pay the visa application fees and mailing-related fees via bank transfer (Please do not send cash in the envelope to the Center; mailing applications are only accepted with payment by transfer). Please indicate the applicant's name and visa application form number when making the payment.

5) Mailing Application Processing Time
6)Mailing services only accept regular applications; Express or Urgent services are not available. Applicants must notify the Center after payment. The Center will begin processing the application upon confirmation of receipt of funds (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM; closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays). Typically, mailing applications require 7 business days from the date processing begins. (This excludes mailing transit time. Some applications may require longer review periods, for which the Center will provide separate notification.)
6) If necessary, consular officers may request additional supporting documents or materials from the applicant, which may not be listed on this website. Consular officers may also require the applicant to attend an interview.
7) The consular officer will decide whether to issue the visa, its validity period, duration of stay, and number of entries based on the specific circumstances of the applicant. Regardless of the visa application outcome, the Center's Service Fee and Mailing Service Fee are non-refundable.
8) Applicants must apply for a Chinese visa from the Visa Application Center within the territory of the Republic of Korea.
9)Upon receiving the passport and visa, please immediately verify the information on the visa. Contact the Visa Application Center promptly if there are any issues.
As the two-way mailing process involves multiple steps, applicants must visit the Center's website in advance, carefully read the relevant requirements, or contact the Center beforehand.

2.Applicants Not Eligible for Fingerprint Exemption or Not Applying by Mail
Applicants not eligible for the fingerprint exemption policy or not applying by mail should visit the Seoul Center website to complete the online application form (application procedure: please click Step 1, Step 2, Step 3). After receiving the confirmation email, bring the required application materials to the Seoul Center to submit the visa application.
