Procedure of Online Application for Chinese Visa
(I) Prepare Visa Application Materials
Please prepare electronic copies of the required application materials according to the type of visa you are applying for. (For the material list, please click here.)
(II) Fill Out the Visa Application Form Online and Upload Electronic Copies of the Application Materials
1. Register and sign in to your account.
Please go to the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the "CVASC") at www.visaforchina.cn, select "Canada,Toronto", click the “Create Account” on the upper right corner of the webpage, finish the registration then sign in to your account.
2. Complete the application form online, upload the application materials, and submit your application.
Please click the “Application form” in the upper right corner of the webpage after signing in. The webpage will automatically redirect you to the Chinese visa online application form filling page. Please read the instructions carefully and fill in the online Visa Application Form according to the instructions. Then upload all application materials. You must click the "Submit" button again on the fee confirmation page to formally complete the online submission of the application. Otherwise, the status will be "PENDING" (online submission process incomplete).
(III) Keep Track of the Online Application Status.
After completing the online application, please regularly check of the [Track Your Application] or [Completed] on the "My Account" page to stay updated on the review status and pay attention to email notifications.
1. If the status shows "To be modified", please revise or supplement your application materials according to the email or system notifications. Sign in to "My Account" page, locate this application form, click "Modify" to make the necessary changes or upload the necessary materials.
Please do not cancel this application form and submit a new application form, as this may incur additional fees.
2. If the status shows "Unapproved", the application has not passed the verification.
3. If the status shows "Online review completed", please print the Visa Application Confirmation (attached in the email) and prepare to submit the required materials and make the payment at the center.
Reminder:
① Approval of the online review does not guarantee the visa will be approved.
② Online verification duration approximately takes 3-5 working days after submission of the application form online.
(If the application form contains errors or the uploaded materials are incomplete, requiring rejection for revision, the online verification duration will be extended.)
③ It is recommended that applicants requiring two-way courier service (who must be eligible for fingerprint exemption) submit their online applications at least one month in advance. Courier service can only be arranged after the online verification is approved.
④ Online payment is not available yet. Please pay the fees when submitting physical materials to the CVASC after the online application is approved.
(IV) Submit Visa Application Materials to the Visa Center and Pay Fees
Please go to the Toronto CVASC to submit the visa application materials, provide biometric information, and pay the fees during the working hours (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on working days;no appointment is required).
1.The following materials must be submitted to the Toronto CVASC:
(1) Original passport or travel document. If your previous passport or travel document contains a valid (unexpired) Chinese visa or long-term residence permit, please bring the original of that document as well;
(2) One printed copy of the Visa Application Confirmation, which can be downloaded and printed from the confirmation email received after your online review is approved;
(3) One paper photo (taken within the past six months, front-facing, in color, with a white background, 33mm*48mm size, without headwear or accessories);
(4) Hard copies of documents required to be submitted in original as listed in the "Visa Types and Required Documents Checklist", as well as any relevant documents mentioned in the email notification (e.g., invitation letter, original Chinese passport, birth certificate, etc.).
2. The applicant must be present in person to provide fingerprints at the Visa Application Center. The following visa applicants are exempt from fingerprint collection:
① Applicants under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;
② Applicants holding a diplomatic passport or those eligible for the issuance of Chinese diplomatic, official, or courtesy visas;
③ Applicants who have applied for a biometric visa and provided fingerprint samples at the same Chinese embassy/consulate (or CVASC) with the same passport within the past five years;
④Individuals with missing fingers on both hands or those unable to provide fingerprints for all ten fingers.
3. All fees must be paid when submitting the application materials. The fees include the visa fee, visa service fee, tax, and courier service fee (if applicable).
The CVASC only accepts payment via Canadian debit card or e-transfer.
Reminder:
① Applicants must go to the CVASC in person to provide fingerprint samples. If any forgery or fingerprint collection by an impersonator is discovered, the applicant will be denied entry into China and shall bear all consequences arising therefrom.
② The Toronto CVASC is not responsible for the approval of Chinese visas; the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto will decide whether to issue a visa, the type of visa to be issued, and the validity period of the visa in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations. If the visa application is not approved by the Consulate General, or is rejected, or the number of entries, validity period, or duration of stay is changed, the visa fee will be charged as required, but the service fee and tax will not be refunded.
③ For diplomatic, service, or courtesy visas, once the online review is approved, applicants should proceed directly to the Chinese Consulate-General in Toronto to submit the required documents in person.
(V) Collect the Document
After submitting your documents in person, please regularly check the [Track Your Application] or [Completed] sections on the "My Account” page to stay updated on the status of your visa application.
When the status changes to "Pending Collection", please collect your document at the Toronto CVASC during the specified expected collection time, using the Visa Collection Slip issued at submission.

Visa Processing Duration After Submitting Physical Materials to the Center:
Regular service 4 working days; Express service 3 working days; Urgent service 2 working days.
If the visa officer requires additional materials,an interview, or extends the review time for other reasons, your document collection date will be postponed.
