Notice on Chinese Visa Application Issues

Year 2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic

relations between China and Ghana. In recent years, under the strategic

guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Ghana relations have

witnessed deepened political mutual trust, strengthened practical cooperation,

and increasingly vibrant people-to-people exchanges, achieving continuous

progress in bilateral ties. China remains steadfast in advancing high-level

opening-up and warmly welcomes friends from all countries to visit China. The

Chinese Embassy in Ghana is committed to promoting personnel exchanges

between the two countries and facilitating visa applications for Ghanaian

friends traveling to China.

In April this year, we launched the Chinese Visa Online Processing

System, which offers functions such as online form filling and document

uploading, has greatly facilitated applicants and improved processing

efficiency. We noticed that some visa applications submitted through

third-party agents may have experienced longer processing times. We remind

applicants to please ensure that all information and supporting documents

provided in their applications are complete and authentic. Any false,

misleading, or incomplete information may result in extended visa processing

times, refusal of the visa, or even denial of entry into China. For applications

that pass the initial online review and after the applicant’s passport is

accepted, normal applications are typically processed within five working

days, while special cases may have uncertain processing times and couldtake much longer. Therefore we encourage applicants to submit their

applications early and complete the application process independently.

We also wish to remind applicants that, in accordance with international

law and practice, every sovereign state has the right to independently

determine whether to permit foreigners to enter or exit its territory, issue or

refuse visas, or revoke issued visas in accordance with its laws. Decisions

regarding visa issuance, visa type, number of entries, validity period, and

duration of stay are determined by consular officials after careful review.
